When we did an electrical walk-through today we had to show the electrician the height to place the entry sconces. (By the way, sconces are one of my favorite if not thee very favorite lighting fixture. They add so much for mood especially when placed on a dimmer).

We just thought we’d pass on a tip for know what height to hang them. The particular sconces we were using were 36″ tall and the electrical box was 10″ from the bottom. We had to decide where we wanted the center of the fixture and then measure correctly from there for him to know where to place the box. FYI, the center of a light fixture should be just above eye level. You don’t want it right in your eyes, but you don’t want it too high above head. We placed the center of the fixture at 5’6″. Between 5’0″ and 6’0″ is a good place to start depending on your ceiling height and the actual fixture.

Check out these sconces. These are our top favorites for now…
