If you live in what I like to call the “normal” world which is the world outside of design, you are probably used to typical cabinetry vanities. Even my own master bath has a very typical bath cabinet. It lacks inspiration, fun, creativity, and style. Each morning I dream up what I want it to be. In my space, it is best designed with one large vanity with two sinks. Even though limited to that options, the design possibilities for my vanity are endless.
Thanks to Traditional Home for these great pics of bath vanities. I’ve selected my favorites from their collection.
You can see why getting creative with your vanity and not going “stock” can make a great difference in your space.
First, you can see that many pictures displayed have open storage. Now this wont work for all spaces, but it gives a casual comfortable appeal. Open storage is ideal for compact spaces. It opens your space and you can use shelving and boxes for additional storage.
Furniture looking pieces are great. Now the “table” picture may not be practical for your needs or space, but you can see how it give a custom comfortable feeling to the space. Of course you can create your own furniture cabinet or you can have one made for you. Furniture pieces can be traditional and elaborate or sleek and contemporary.
Sinks and faucets add so much to the space if you wan them to take center stage. In the pictures with unique wall faucets and sinks, they really make a statement. If other items like the cabinet itself, lighting, or the mirror are going to be the focus then you’ll want to go more subtle on the sinks and faucets.
